Re: HandKnit Halters are Cool!

Good day Y'all!
Fashion can take so many shapes and forms and ideas are always cooking in an artist's kitchen. I love handmade chic and especially clothing that renders the wearer a one of a kind touch. I really love Dylana's handknit, crochet designs. Dylana designs and makes all her own patterns. She loves trying different things that pop into her head. Nature, architecture, and color inspire her work.
Dylana says "I make everything with LOVE and with every PINK item sold, I donate 50% of the sale to The Canadian Cancer Society in Toronto to help in the fight against cancer." Check out her cool etsy shop-a crochet fan's delight!

How sexy is this teal blue halter! Head over to http://www.etsy.com/shop/dylanadesigns and get yourself something special this summer!

Re: Wired Cats!

After a brisk walk in the nippy aftermath of morning rain, I feel refreshed and set for the daily grind. I always think creative people need just one or two original ideas to churn out that much sought after one of a kind thing! I find Poppy's wired sculptures really cute and modern. She has been creating wire cats for many years now and sold them in Galleries in the UK. Poppy is passionate about animals and loves to share her passion with fellow animal lovers by creating works of art for them.

Poppy treasures her 3 lovely cats and a tortoise named Mog. They keep her very busy and are her muse, without which she can't imagine her life being the way it is. I love her works and had a great time browsing her catalog on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/poppyseedcats

This piece reminds me of a poem I had written nine years back about how my afternoon lazy dreams if pictured, would resemble a tangled ball of wool, a cat having done all the mischief! Nostalgia time....

Re: New Studio Space,Nook, Creative Heaven!

Hello Pink Lovers,
Had a wonderful day at the Arboretum today with a friend and her lovely tots:) What pleasure walking through well scaped gardens and learning plant species biological names! Also got to take pics for my own use later. Love work and play! Nature sure works its therapy on you-something with the way it soothes your senses and oh yes-the Rosemary maze was amazing-felt like it was an aromatherpay session right there! Got my hands full of the fragrance and hated to wash it down later. I also did one more thing on my way home after a delicious Panang curry lunch-Bought a fresh bouquet of wild daisies-A lil something for my new studio space that I will share photos below. The pure sheep wool rug that my mom and sis had gifted me for my birthday in India few years back is the new love of my life:)-Pure comfort and beauty. Hand embroidered floral design from the exotic northern State of Kashmir. Hmmm Hmmm!

Enjoy the day and I will be back soon to post an artist feature for the weekend.......I know the bulletin board needs to be put to use!

Re: An Adorable brood of Hens!

Good morning!
I have no complaints whatsoever with this Monday morning as the weekend rolled out to be a stay home yet productive one. I could finally put together my home studio space. Its a beautiful feeling when you can work out of a bright sunny generous window setting space with pure sheep wool embroidered rug, pillow throws, a wooden table, spotlight, bulletin board, and the highlight of my cosy nook-a simple white two draw supply cabinet that was a DYI project for my better half this weekend. I love the way it all came together and the best thing is ample sunlight - Every artist would swear by that!
Can't wait to put the space to good use.......and that brings me to talk about my artist pick of the day-Asia Bataev from Poland. She is a knitter/crocheter who makes unique and supah cute little things with colorful wool. Asia also does not use any patterns and does everything out of her head rendering that one of a kind touch to her pieces. Asia says "I make all toys, bath accessories caps and paints with real love and fun. So they contain lots of good energy. I belive in the power of imagination that's why Steiner's ideas on education are so close to me. And that's why my toys are inspired with the waldorf style."
What a nice piece for a corner in the kids room....!

Enjoy the week ahead and keep the creative juices flowing........................................

Re: Sunflowers For your Ears!

Hello TGIF Pinks,
Sunshine and sunflowers set the mood for my friday this morning as I was peeking through Christine Henry's jewelry collection on etsy. Exotic gems and unique patterns distinguish her creations. What started off as a passion for jewelry and gems turned into an addictive hobby and later on into a full time occupation, as Christine was forced into disability retirement.  In her own words-"I want everyone to be able to afford, wear and share, original, quality pieces that are withstanding the test of time. All my items are individually designed by me and almost all are one of a kind. I always use quality components and will test unknowns before I will consider selling them." Surely her obsession with quality shows in her work. Check out more @
